Completely out of the blue, news broke out that Alfredo Morelos had agreed terms with Lille and sent Rangers fans into a meltdown.

For quite some time now it has looked like the inevitable. Alfredo Morelos has dropped hints for a long time that he wants to leave the Rangers. And that time appears to be creeping closer by the minute as Sky Sports broke the news earlier today that the Colombian had agreed personal terms with Ligue 1 side Lille.

Lille are set to lost Victor Osimhen to Napoli and it appears that they have earmarked Morelos as the replacement. While we think they’ll be disappointed with their acquisition, that’s their problem.

While it is worth noting that the two clubs are yet to agree a fee, many Rangers fans seem to have already given up on keeping hold of the Colombian. And while some of them decided to rue on seeing him leave, others hoped that the club would be bringing in a top replacement. Whatever may be the case, it made for great entertainment for Celtic fans:

Despite his 0 goals in 12 appearances against Celtic, Morelos was the best striker that Rangers had at their disposal. He did score 77 times for them over the past three seasons after all. Thus, it will probably be a big blow to their squad losing him so close to the start of the new season.

Celtic fans will be sad to see him go as well, because it was always a bit easier to win against the Ibrox side with the Colombian missing chances left, right and centre on Derby day.
