Martin Boyle makes contract admission amidst Celtic links

After numerous links to Celtic via social media for the past seven months, Hibernian star Martin Boyle makes a contract admission.
Celtic have been linked with Hibs star Martin Boyle dating all the way back to January of this year. Much of those links arose on social media, but sometimes where there is smoke there is fire. Of course players keep tabs on this type of stuff themselves and Boyle wasn’t one to let it get to him.
Despite being oft-injured during his spell with Hibs, Boyle has been one of the most productive members on the pitch. At 26-years old, the winger could provide some steadiness and depth to Celtic’s wings and likely could be had for a fair price due to financial restraints and hardships many clubs are facing due to the global pandemic.
Despite these rumours, Boyle has recently made a contract admission that doesn’t bode well for a pre-imminent move to the Scottish Champions. In fact, it is quite a diplomatic answer that isn’t forcing the hand of Hibs nor the Hoops.
Speaking with the Daily Record, here is what the Australian winger had to say regarding his contract which is up in 12 months:
"“Nothing will change and I’ll go out there and give everything for the club.“It’s on going at the moment and I’m not completely sure. I’m just trying to put that at the back of my mind, let everyone else sort that and just get on with my football.“I’ve been doing that every season and hopefully I can just keep putting performances in.”"
According to the Scottish Sun back in January, the Easter Road club would be looking for close to £3 million for Boyle. But now with additional hardships that number could be much lower, perhaps even slashed in half.
After ensuring the return of Mohamed Elyounoussi from Southampton this summer an additional winger may not be such a poor idea. Last season Elyounoussi missed significant time with injury and the added talent of Boyle could help cover if need be. This is an important season, and if quality players are available on bargain the club needs to make a move.
