Keep up with the score and all the live updates as Celtic take on Paris Saint-Germain as they look bring a positive end to their pre-season tour of France.

FT: PSG 4-0 Celtic

A couple of final thoughts:

Celtic looked decent in the first half against a very good club. With the season just over a week away it is a bit eyebrow raising to have played such a talented club. Confidence and smooth play is what is likely needed this time of year.

While Greg Taylor played decently, it is glaring obvious that the need for a left-back has carried over from last season. Don’t even get us started on a goalkeeper.

Overall, one more preseason match against less stiff competition may be needed in order to instill that confidence that will be needed heading into one of the most important seasons in club history.

88′

CalMac trying to add a late goal but is just wide right of goal. Still PSG 4-0 Celtic

77′:

Nearly another goal for PSG, luckily a Celtic deflection has kept it 4-0 for now.

72′: SUBSTITUTION

Tom Rogic is coming on for Olivier Ntcham. Exciting to see him, may be the spark needed to get something going for the Hoops.

67′: SUBSTITUTION

Edouard’s day is over as Patryk Klimala gets his run out.

67′: GOAL.

PSG makes it 4-0. Lot of quality players on their side.

65′: SUBSTITUTION

James Forrest is coming into the game for Nir Bitton

56′

Last 10 minutes Celtic have looked out of sorts. PSG has been incredibly threatening. This is where we want to see some fight!

50′

Scott Bain took a bit of a shot but looks to be ok. Hazard is back up if something were to happen. PSG corner.

48′: GOAL.

PSG with another early goal to make it PSG 3-0 Celtic.

We are back with the second half! Neymar and Mbappe are both off for PSG.

HT PSG 2-0 Celtic

The hosts have a comfortable lead but there have been promising signs from the Hoops as well. Some good moments in possession and unlucky not to score as they hit the bar.

42′

Bitton gets in trouble trying a fancy chip but then does well to win a throw from it.

39′

Another chance for Neymar but he decides to go down easily instead of shooting. No penalty given.

37′

CLOSE! We’ve hit the post. Our bad luck in France continues.

35′

Good save from Bain to deny Mbappe a third.

33′

What a ball from Ntcham to put Edouard through. PSG do well to cut it out before the Frenchman could do any damage though.

32′

After that good spell from Celtic, PSG seem to have taken control again. Most of their attacks coming down our left.

28′

PSG unlock the Celtic defence again but its off-side this time.

25′ GOAL

2-0 to PSG as Neymar scores. Unlucky to concede there as it takes a huge deflection of Bitton. Against the run of play.

22′

Celtic win a free-kick in a good position.

21′

Delicious ball across the goal from Frimpong. Unfortunately nobody had made the run to get on the end of it.

18′

Great run from Edouard but the shot does not come off. PSG also have a chance at the other end after a while.

16′

Brilliant corner routine there. Unlucky to not find the back of the net. Great volley from Ntcham.

15′

Celtic have dominated possession for the last 5 minutes or so. Promising.

12′

Some good possession for Celtic here. Finding our rhythm.

10′

10 minutes in and it’s still 1-0. PSG looking dangerous every time they get into the attacking third though.

4′

It’s all PSG at the moment. Need to find our feet.

1′ GOAL

Well, that did not take long. Mbappe scores in the very first minute for the hosts.

Celtic are yet to register a win in their pre-season tour of France, having registered a 1-1 draw against Nice before falling to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Lyon. Now admittedly the Hoops have not had the best of luck with VAR ruling out a goal in their first game and a penalty in their second.

Pre-season is not about results though as it is getting back to peak fitness and performance that will matter more to Neil Lennon. The fact that the side have been able to keep up with some good French teams is just an added bonus.

Paris Saint-Germain though will a very tough test. The French side are targeting the UEFA Champions League in August and have been in scary form till now, winning their first to pre-season friendlies 9-0 and 7-0, respectively.

While results might not matter at this stage of the season, considering the size and pride of Celtic, such a result cannot be expected or accepted here. As a result, Neil Lennon’s will be looking to at least be competitive with the French giants and hopefully come out with a win if possible.
