Celtic have a few different targets this summer in order to add to the club. However, one could break the club’s transfer record.
Celtic are in need of reinforcements after watching players leave the club this summer without replacements. Couple that with the fact that striker Odsonne Edouard and centreback Kristoffer Ajer seem to be linked with a different club every single day.
But, what if the Hoops made a massive signing of their own? It would be possible, especially if Ajer or (Goodness forbid) Edoaurd see their departures ahead of the 10-in-a-row season. Those rumoured transfer fees could help restock the club. So, in that case, how about Austrian Bundesliga ‘Golden Boot’ winner Shon Weissman?
Another striker you say? Well, there seems to be some credence to Celtic’s interest in the Israeli according to the Telegraph and according to MSport24, if the Hoops want him he could command north of 10 million Euros. That would edge out Edouard for the record transfer fee in club history.
But, as the Telegraph reports a move like that would only be made if Edouard saw his departure. Patryk Klimala seems poised for a breakout season, or at least one in which his workload and responsibility is increased. Unfortunately, Leigh Griffiths has been disappointing fans and his manager by not showing up to training ready to work and out of fitness. Losing Edouard would create a massive power swing, one the Hoops might not be able to afford.
Unless of course they bought Shon Weissman. These next few weeks could get interesting as dominoes start to fall.
