This one is obvious as a concern, everyone is aware and hopefully Neil Lennon has now indicated it could be addressed over the next few days.

Lennon does seem to have given up on Fraser Forster now, unless that’s a tactical bluff to call him out. It’s such a critical position that it can’t wait though. A partial concern is how it gets addressed. Unless Fraser Forster does a dramatic U turn and surprises everyone by signing up, then the jury seems to be out on the possible options.

Scott Bain had a couple of reasonable games in France, let’s see how he does in the next against PSG, assuming anyone new arriving immediately isn’t thrown into that very deep end.  Everyone can see this is a position to strengthen, even if you rate Scott Bain as a first choice, with Forster and Gordon gone, Lennon’s options for cover or competition is very thin.

Across the media, mainstream or otherwise, fans and reporters could write for ages on Hart, Marshall, Hladky ex St Mirren and Barkas from AEK Athens as the possible and most likely options. It seems as though one of those will emerge over the coming days. For many fans the view seems to their head telling them it’ll be Hart and their hearts hoping not, but let’s wait and see and of course all fans should back whoever it is and give the new keeper full backing.

Celtic though have a habit of suddenly revealing players we had no idea they were considering or talking to. They, or Forster, may yet surprise us.

Right now  the answer is needed quickly, whether we see it individually as good news, bad news, disappointing news or astonishing, let’s just get that done must be the message to the club. I’m sure they know that and Lennon looked confident it, whatever it is, will happen soon. Let’s hope so.
