Celtic are set to let another player walk out of Parkhead, as the club look set for a major revamp in the upcoming transfer window.
Heading into the season when 10IAR will be hanging in the balance, the Celtic board will know that they are expected to put out the strongest team possible on the pitch. There is no place for leaving anything to chance with such high stakes.
The early portion of the club’s transfer business has involved letting go of players though before bringing any new ones in. These have mostly been players without an immediate future at the club although the decision to not renew Jonny Hayes’ contract was met with some anger on the part of the fans.
Largely though, nobody can complain about the players who have left Parkhead over the last month or so. And now one more is set to join them in the form of Jack Hendry.
As reported by the Daily Record, Hendry is set to join Belgian side KVV Oostende on a one-year loan deal and has already flown to give a medical before the move is completed:
"The Scottish international flew out to Belgium today for his medical and is expected to complete his move tomorrow afternoon."
Hendry arrived at Celtic during the tenure of Brendan Rodgers as boss from Dundee FC for a £1 million fee. At that point of time he was one of the most highly touted defenders in the country, and had even made his national debut for Scotland. As a result, he was expected to have a long and prosperous career at Parkhead.
Things have not gone to plan since then though as he has fallen completely down the pecking order. In fact, the club will probably be hoping that he has a decent time on loan at KVV Oostende so that they make a permanent move for him next season. Because at this point of time, there does not seem to be any chance of him ever becoming a first-team regular for Celtic.
