AC Milan have a strong interest in Celtic centreback Kristoffer AJer. Now, the Italian club is prepared to offer two defenders for the Celtic man.

Plenty of rumours have been swirling around centreback Kristoffer Ajer and his future at Celtic. Last season his agent, who was later fired, had stated that the defender wanted out of Parkhead in order to seal a move to a larger club.

After the firing of his agent the thought was that the rumours would die down. And they did for a moment, but now with the transfer window heating up the rumours have resurfaced. The club that seems to be the most interested in Italian-side AC Milan.

AC Milan had reportedly put in a bid for Ajer last week that was rejected by the Hoops. The fact remains that Celtic has only subtracted this offseason and has failed to add anyone, especially on the defensive side of the house.

That may explain why the Hoops denied the bid for Ajer and why they decided to up the ante to get their target. AC Milan is now reportedly offering two defensive players, along with cash, to Celtic in order to acquire Ajer in a permanent deal.

According to the Sunday Post AC Milan is eager to get Ajer. Here is what they have to say regarding a potential offer:

"“Most intriguingly, sources insist Milan are also ready to offer Celtic a variety of central defensive options to help sweeten the deal and help the Hoops cope with the loss of Ajer.“Among the names being talked about for permanent deals out of the San Siro are Italian Under-21 internationalist Matteo Gabbia (20) and the Argentinian Mateo Musacchio (29).”"

This deal would seem to solve every issue with Ajer’s departure. First, as long as the money demands are met then Celtic should think about moving the centreback. If these two defenders, both of which have Serie A experience, are tossed into the deal then that helps sure up the backline.
