Leigh Griffiths has broken his silence after being left out Celtic’s pre-season squad that will travel to France to take on Nice, Olympique Lyon and PSG.

Not too long ago, Leigh Griffiths’ career at Parkhead was considered finished as failed to recapture the form that saw him become the club’s highest goal scorer of the previous decade. Issues both on and off the pitch had derailed the Scot’s career who was at one point of time, easily the best player in the country.

Griffiths was not one to let go easily though and fought his way back into the team. While Patryk Klimala’s arrival was considered to be the final nail in the coffin of his Celtic career, he instead used it to bounce back and find his form back. In fact, he scored a hattrick in the last game before the season had to be called off due to the global pandemic outbreak.

There is fresh speculation about his future at the club again though after he was left out of the club’s squad that will travel to France to face Nice, Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain in three glamour friendlies in preparation for the new season. Neil Lennon did not consider Griffiths fit enough to make the trip and one can only speculate what kind of shape he is in at the moment.

As seen earlier, Griffiths is not one to easily give up though and made his intentions clear by posting the quote from the move Rocky Balboa about getting back every time life knocks you down on his Instagram story accompanied by the caption:

"“So many knockdowns, I’ll rise up and keep challenging those who doubt.”"

One thing we know about Griffiths is that he is true fighter and he will use this set back as just further motivation to come back stronger. We can only wish him the best of luck as we hope to see him at his best when the season returns in a few weeks time. Come on Leigh!
