Celtic might be set to beat Leicester City to another promising youngster, inflicting further pain on former Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers.
Another great youngster we can beat Leicester to. We’ve already secured one young starlet wanted by Brendan Rodgers and here’s the ideal opportunity to beat him to a second player. An 18 year old Scottish striker looking to build a career, Celtic could be just the place.
The Sun report that Celtic are interested in young 18 year old, 6 ft 1 in tall, centre forward Kyle Joseph who is currently at administration headed Wigan Athletic. Wigan are desperate to shed costs by moving players on and their sad need is a signal to others for real bargains to be struck for forced sales.
Both Leicester City and Sheffield United are following up on the possible signing of Joseph, but Celtic are also reported to be interested admirers. And the Hoops managed to retain exciting youngster Ts’oanelo Lets’osa at the club despite strong interest from Brendan Rodgers and Leicester. Joseph could be another to repeat that.
Joseph is still young and learning the game, but Celtic could be the place to do that and to get opportunities to break through. As a Scotland youth international at various levels he may well feel he can continue to catch the eye of the international managers better if playing for Celtic, even in reserve or development squads. He made his Scotland U18s debut against Uzbekistan in October 2018 and he now has 7 U19s caps for Scotland too.
Crown Talent Group act on Joseph’s behalf and explain his attributes well, as you’d expect:
"“Good movement and prolific goal scorer, Kyle is a striker with great movement, allowing him the space to score goals. His height allows him to hold up the ball and score goals with his head, and with his finishing improving each day, the forward looks set for a bright future.”"
Celtic may well see him as one for the future with real potential at an attractively low cost. He could present additional options alongside Klimala and Bayo, especially if there are concerns over Griffiths and his fitness as appears to be being suggested currently.
