With clubs around Europe interested in Kristoffer Ajer, Celtic have named the transfer price that they’d let the Norwegian leave Parkhead for.

It’s a rumour that Celtic fans were hoping that they had seen the last of but it refuses to go away. It has been reported for quite some time that some of the biggest clubs in Europe are after the Norwegian defender who has become a prominent part of the Hoops’ starting line up over the past few seasons.

According to reports in Italy, AC Milan had actually put in a bid for Ajer which was rejected by Celtic. But there is still a feeling that if the right offer comes for the 22-year-old then the club is open to letting him go.

At the end of the day, the global pandemic has caused huge financial loss to clubs all around the world. And if an astronomical offer came for Ajer’s services, then it is understandable that the Celtic board will have a rough time not accepting despite the fact that the club is heading into 10IAR.

The good news is though that the price that Celtic have put up on Ajer’s head. As stated earlier, the Norwegian is a man in demand and as a result, prising him away from Parkhead will require a King’s ransom.

As reported by the Daily Record, the club want a fee in the range of £27 million in order to let go off their prized possession. Of course, that will see the record for the biggest transfer fee Celtic have ever received, which was set last summer when Kieran Tierney joined Arsenal for £25 million.

Obviously, it is not ideal for the club to let go off Ajer at this point of time as they’ll be left scrambling for a suitable replacement. But £27 million is an incredible amount of money and if invested correctly, it could strengthen the squad significantly.
