UEFA have made a major announcement regarding Celtic’s Champions League qualifiers that will particularly interest season ticket holders.

The virtual season ticket has been a cause of a lot of controversy among Celtic fans in recent weeks, with the club charging an astronomical price for what is going to be nothing more than an online streaming service in case fans are not allowed into stadiums next season.

With the global pandemic wrecking financial all over the world, many season ticket holders have not been able to renew their tickets this time around. But that has not stopped fans from selling over 50,000 of them till now with the fans eager to back their team with ten-in-a-row up for grabs.

There is some good news for those who actually did decide to splurge out on the service as they’ll have access to all of the club’s upcoming UEFA Champions League home qualifiers. Earlier today, the club tweeted out:

Fans are not expected to be back inside stadiums anytime soon, at least a large number of them. As a result most if not all of the fans will be relying on this service to catch the club in European action next season. There is no news till now how those who do not have the tickets will watch the games as no television broadcaster has been announced till now.

For a change, the first three qualifiers will have only one leg while the play-off will be played over two legs as usual, if Celtic can make it to that stage. Having failed to qualify for the Champions League main stage for the last two seasons, the fans will have high expectations this time around.

A club of Celtic’s size and history belong in Europe’s elite competition. Hopefully Neil Lennon is the man to steer us back there.
