Fraser Forster to Celtic transfer saga takes major twist
By Kade Kistner
A Celtic move for Fraser Forster may still be on after days of rumours have all but halted the goalkeeper from a potential move.
Stop us if you have heard this before: there is a new twist in the Fraser Forster to Celtic saga. Hoops fans desperarely want Forster to return to Parkhead of the 10-in-a-row campaign, but there seems to be a hold up on the player’s end.
After a seemingly done deal regarding a new, one-year loan deal, the negotiations fell apart. It was originally reported that Southampton didn’t want to move the keeper after he saw a resurgence in his career. Then it was rumoured that Forster actually wanted to stay in England to compete for first team minutes at Southampton. After that news Hoops fans began to look elsewhere at different keepers available.
Now, there is a new twist in Forster’s saga. According to BT Sport broadcaster Darrell Currie the Forster to Celtic deal is “still on.”
Lots of Celtic fans across social media seem to believe that a deal with Forster will ultimately get done. Despite Hoops manager Neil Lennon admitting that the Forster deal was all but over, there seems to be a lot of traction across all platforms that the Hoops want Forster back.
Of course, the Hoops are shrewd with their business practices and every that is said or leaked to the media is on purpose. It is possible that they are simply putting pressure on Southampton to get a deal done and quickly. There is little time to secure a top notch keeper ahead of the season which is rapidly approaching.
Let’s just hope that a deal can get worked out with fan favourite Fraser Forster. The match is just too perfect for both the Hoops and the player to now figure it out.
