Celtic name transfer price they’d let Edouard leave for
There have been a lot of eyes on Celtic star Odsonne Edouard, and boss Neil Lennon has set the asking price accordingly.
Football Insider reported on Celtic’s fee disclosure for taking the 22-year-old striker out of his contract before a historic season of football.
With the ten-in-a-row on the way, Lennon has plans for Edouard. The Frenchman started out with Celtic as loan in 2017, before making his mark with his first pro hat trick the game against Motherwell at Celtic Park. He signed a four year deal back in 2018, it would definitely cost a pretty penny to tear him away from the club.
The Hoops icon had a standout performance last season, taking part in the historic “treble treble”, winning the Scottish Premiership, the Scottish League Cup, and the Scottish Cup in three consecutive years.
Crystal Palace are looking to snag the talented player for a cool £25 million, Lennon has countered with a £40 million price tag to sign the Frenchman. It’s a simple statement, they’re not letting him go for the foreseeable future.
Leeds have also thrown their hat into the ring to poach the 28 goal striker from under the Bhoys’s nose.
He was an expensive player, smashing the signing record at Celtic F.C for a whopping fee of £9 million, the ludicrous price tag thrown out by Lennon cements the strikers future at the Scottish club.
Edouard could be sold off for a hefty stack of cash, provided that a team could and would pay such a toll, but the fact that he remains on the team lets the league know how important he is to 10IAR and to Neil Lennon’s strategy for the coming campaign.
It seems like Edouard will one day drift away from the Bhoys, he is a sought after star and will eventually take an offer he cannot refuse. For a talent like him, the world is his oyster. We have him for the “Push” though and his presence on the pitch will inspire his teammates and the fans to go all in.
