In an interview with Open Goal, Andy Halliday has revealed a shocking confession regarding his former Glasgow club, Rangers as well as Celtic.

As previously reported by Celts Are Here, the former Rangers midfielder/back opened up about Celtic, being asked about the rumored transfer bid the Hoops are potentially making for Joe Hart from English-side Burnley, chiming in with his thoughts as to what their approach should be:

"“Celtic should break the bank and get Forster”"

Host, and former Rangers striker, Kevin Kyle speaks to Joe Hart’s ability, calling him

"“arguably one of the best goalies in the world, definitely one of the best goalies in Britain”"

He uses Celtic’s 1-0 victory over Rangers in the Scottish League Cup Final from December as a reminder to Forster’s worth. As many Hoops fans would be fond to remember, Fraser Forster stopped a poor penalty attempt by Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos in the 64th minute of play. In the interview, he speaks about how he didn’t wish for Morelos to take the penalty in such a critical moment of the match, saying (as transcribed by Celts Are Here):

"“See the thing is with Alfredo? I’d go as far to say he’s a poor finisher, but he’s an UNBELIEVABLE goalscorer. He’s one of those who you’d watch in game and training and he’d scaff everything into the bottom corner and you’d think that was ugly as anything, but it just goes in all the time!”"

While Morelos’ ability to score is not in question whatsoever after 30 goals in league play the previous two seasons, Rangers would likely have been much better off with a different player taking the penalty as he only has one penalty goal scored in the past four seasons.

On the other hand, Fraser Forster’s value was only reiterated. His performance in that 1:0 victory for Celtic was monstrous, blocking multiple shots throughout the match from Alfredos, who has yet to score against the Hoops. With it looking more and more likely that Forster will be departing Parkhead, Hoops fans can only hope for a solid replacement to the English keeper who was so critical in their ninth-straight league title this year.
