Celtic keep on winning as they ink massive commercial deal

Celtic’s New Balance contract ended yesterday and the future of Adidas is at the club’s fingertips. Now, they have inked a new retailer deal.

Celtic have recently inked a new deal with Adidas that will see the club have their kits supplied by the legendary football club for years to come. It is a significant improvement over New Balance, who while they made decent kits, were never quite to the same calibre of the best in the football business.

The Hoops will not only be represented by Adidas, the best kit manufacturer in the game, but they will also be entering into a distribution agreement with JD Sports. This partnership will allow Celtic’s product to be distributed far and wide, exactly how one of the best clubs in Europe should have their merchandise be marketed.

Fans and supporters should be excited as this will likely increase revenue across the board for a season when 10-in-a-row and the Champions League are the goal. Kit sales are a huge part of profit when it comes to a football club’s bottom line and this move helps increase the opportunity for the most amount possible.

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell spoke with the Daily Record about the new kit and merchandising deal with Adidas and JD Sports, respectively:
