Celtic’s latest move shows that they are ready to go all guns blazing for next season when they look to win a record 10th straight Scottish league title.

Well that’s just the boost we were all needing. Mohamed Elyounoussi is here for ten-in-a-row! His reasons for continuing at the club in a year long loan from Southampton are heartwarming for all the Celtic family.

Celtic have just officially confirmed his ongoing loan for the new season, Elyounoussi himself is delighted and so are the fans who played a strong part in helping him decide his future.

He was overwhelmed with fans messages thanking him for last season and begging him to stay:

"“It’s hard to say no when you get so many messages and feedback – love from the fans, and obviously I will try to give something back. The fans, of course, are one of the reasons why I’m staying here another year.”"

He was affected by injury for some of last season but was a powerful force in the hoops when he got to play with 20 appearances in all. A scoring debut against Hamilton set him on his way and he played and scored in some key matches including European games and that stunning away victory in Rome against Lazio

Securing two winners medals, maybe three with the Scottish cup still to be played for will have been a tremendous draw for him to return for more. After that busy season the extended break for training will have helped him rest and recover, like many other players he is raring to go and can’t wait for the new season. It was a positive sign when he was seen joining the squad for training at Lennoxtown recently. Elyanoussi is impressed by what he has seen there too:

"“I’m actually surprised at how good the passing drills and the touches from everyone have been, even though it’s been over two months without football, so everyone is determined and motivated to give their best.“The winning mentality is still there, even if it is just a passing drill, or when we start playing games in training. Everyone wants to win all the time, and that’s going to help us hopefully achieve our goals.”"

Elyounoussi is well aware of just how important the forthcoming season is to the Celtic support, and he’s looking forward to the historic challenge ahead:

"“It’s maybe one of the biggest seasons in the history of Celtic, so no pressure!“But we’re looking forward to it. We’ve been working really hard and I’m sure all the other teams in the league have been working hard to try to stop us. But we’re going to give everything. I hope that we can play the games with our fans as soon as possible, because with their help, hopefully we can achieve something great.”"

Just what we want to hear Moi!

Now can you get your Southampton team mate Fraser Forster in alongside you, on loan or ideally permanent to help the 10IAR preparations continue.
