A Twitter survey regarding Celtic season ticket holders and their future decisions has produced some unexpected results.

As the Celtic squad is beginning to prepare for a new season campaign so is the board. While players must prepare and hone their physical fitness and form, the board must prepare financially in order to put the club in the best position possible to profit.

As such, the board is trying to find a way to keep fans included in match day despite the restrictions keeping said fans away from Parkhead. Quite tricky business and one position I am glad I am not currently in. The solution is to offer “virtual” season tickets until fans can once again walk through the doors of Paradise.

This type of “virtual” season ticket does not have a ton of details yet and one can only speculate on whether it would be worth the full price of admission. As such, many Hoops supporters have taken to social media to vent frustration of paying for a full season ticket only to watch the club on television. This has lead to a lot of supporters either threatening to not renew their tickets by the June 30 deadline, or outright refusing to do so.

This has led to a Twitter survey that asks fans what they plan on doing with their season tickets. The result was somewhat unexpected considering how loud some folks have been in opposition of the “virtual” ticket idea. Here, take a look:

At the time of writing, over 78% of participants said they already have or will renew their season tickets by the deadline. With just over 8% saying they had no plans to renew. Quite the stark difference from the narrative we have been hearing and seeing on social media.

What are your thoughts on the “virtual” season ticket plan? Also, if you are a season ticket holder we would love to hear your opinion on the proposed solution. Drop us a comment!
