Celtic fans let their thoughts be known in a recent Twitter poll regarding one Hoops striker who could be a big part of the squad next season.

A lot of questions surround what the club and first team will look like come next season. With 10-in-a-row on the line, Celtic manager Neil Lennon has promised a revamp of the squad. Could one striker be the key to the club’s success next season?

January signing Patryk Klimala is the player in question. Acquired for around £3.5 million, the player struggled to break into the Celtic starting XI only amassing two appearances for the Parkhead club. Presently, the forthcoming campaign carries gargantuan historical significance as the Hoops charge towards what would be a memorable tenth successive league triumph. Competition for starting berths will be fierce, as in every position players will need to illustrate capability and consistency on a weekly basis.

In a recent Twitter poll, most Celtic fans don’t believe Patrick Klimala will be Celtic’s third choice striker next season. The young Polish forward in a sample of 357 votes, narrowly missed out on the Bhoys fans acclaim as 47.3% fancied his chances going into the new season while the other 52.7% believe the role could belong to an alternative.

Formerly of Jagiellonia Bialystok, the attacker demonstrated his abilities regularly as he notched 7 goals and 3 assists in 17 league games for Jaga. Being involved in more than a goal every two games, the 21-year-old captured the attention of scouts around Europe culminating in the eventuality of moving to Glasgow.

According to various reports emanating from Lennoxtown since the resumption of training; front-man Klimala has reported back in excellent physical condition. Potentially, if allocated game-time at certain parts of the impending season, the Poland U-21 cap could provide a reliable alternative or partner to Odsonne Edouard or Leigh Griffiths in the Bhoys final third. Patryk Klimala will have to persevere in the next few months training sessions in order to truly get rocking in a Celtic jersey.

However, he is likely to be given the chance to prove he belongs on the squad after Neil Lennon and company worked hard to bring him in during the winter window. It remains to be seen just how much of a role he will play given the resurgence of Leigh Griffiths.
