Celtic are set to net a massive cash windfall following the conclusion of the season that was halted prematurely due to COVID-19.

Celtic’s and all of the Scottish football club’s season were brought to a screeching halt due to the novel coronavirus over three months ago. After months of drama and financial uncertainty the league was brought to a conclusion based on the votes of the Scottish clubs.

This was due to the fact that clubs wanted, or needed the cash prizes that would be awarded to each club based on which place they ended up in. This is good news for Celtic who are lined up to receive £3.35 million for winning the league title.

But even more cash is supposed to hit the coffers of the Hoops bank as they are preparing to accept the money from their European campaign in the Europe League now that UEFA has determined how the remaining games will be played out. Celtic should receive £15 million for their accomplishments in Europe.

Despite COVID-19 wrecking havoc financially on most clubs the Hoops are positioned well to weather the storm. The passionate fanbase has stood by their club with most fans committed to the future of the club through not accepting season ticket refunds, to ensuring that those same season tickets are renewed (as long as they are financially able).

Celtic will need every penny if they hope to bring in new talent and revamp their roster as Hoops manager Neil Lennon and his second in command John Kennedy have mentioned.
