Celtic coaches expect new signing to turn into a star
By Kade Kistner
Celtic coaches believe that one of the recent, young signings will make a huge splash next year for the club.
Celtic have a plethora of young talent just waiting for their chance to make an impact with the first team. Some of this talent was homegrown, while others have been sourced and bought. One player of particular interest is Patryk Klimala.
The 21-year old was brought in during the winter transfer window and prior to the shutdown got one start with four appearances. Unfortunately for the new Bhoy, veteran Leigh Griffiths returned to legendary form and helped create the most formidable front two in all of Scotland between himself and Odsonne Edouard.
Griffiths’s resurgence has started to have some Hoops fans thinking about Klimala’s future with the club? Will he be an integral part of the squad, or will he simply be loaned out and become forgotten about until one of the proven strikers takes their exit?
According to Football Insider, who has heard from a Hoops source, multiple Celtic coaches firmly believe that Klimala will be an integral and exciting part of the squad next season. Here is what they have to say about the new striker:
"“A Celtic source has told Football Insider that Neil Lennon and his staff are convinced Klimala can explode into life next season and be a regular matchwinner.“The Hoops have returned to pre-season training at their Lennoxtown headquarters and have been mainly working on fitness drills.“Klimala is set to be one of those to benefit from the programme devised by Lennon and his staff.“They believe the striker, who does not turn 22 until August, has a big role to play even if Odsonne Edouard does stay.”"
As Football Insider has pointed an entire preseason could do wonders for the striker’s fitness, while also giving Hoops manager Neil Lennon a long and extended look at him. He was one of the few transfers brought into during the previous transfer windows and there is seemingly a plan for him.
It could be likely that Klimala will play a bigger role in smaller matches which would afford Griffiths a breather. This would allow Griffiths to extend his season while potentially making him more effective down the long haul. This will be an important factor in helping key players stay healthy down the final stretch of next season, especially if Rangers are somehow keeping pace.
Any and all options should be on the table when it comes to completing the 10-in-a-row.
