6. 2001 – 2002
Trophies: Scottish Premier League
League Play: 1st Place by 18 points over Rangers, +76 GD with 103 points.
The 2001-2002 Hoops squad almost matched one of our later reviewed seasons in terms of points, recording a then-record 103 points in league play. With only one loss in domestic play against Aberdeen in December, the squad racked up 94 league goals behind league leaders Henrick Larsson (29) and John Hartson (19). While they only came runners up in the Scottish Cup, the squad’s league accomplishments this season make their case.
5. 2018 – 2019
Trophies: Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup
League Play: 1st Place by nine points over Rangers with a +57 GD.
In Brendan Rodgers’ final season (he departed in late February for English-side Leicester City), and the start of Neil Lennon’s current renewed tenure in Parkhead, the Hoops managed to win their third straight treble and eighth straight title. In European play, the squad advanced to the knockout round of the Champions League before being knocked out by Spanish-side Valencia on a 3-0 aggregate. Lead by current Hoops star forward Odsonne Édouard’s 23 goals in all play, this squad had no trouble netting home, knocking 121 goals together on the season.
