Rangers have been left red-faced after the incredible news broke out, proving once again that they cannot compete with Celtic financially.

Repeating a lie time after time doesn’t make it the truth. So no matter how many times Rangers fans tell themselves that they can compete financially with Celtic, that is the farthest thing from the truth.

Due to the global pandemic, the season had to be called off with Celtic being declared as champions as a result of their monstrous 13 point lead at the top of the Premiership. The clubs have now been given permission though to return to training with next season hopefully starting on August 1 behind closed doors.

There is another bump in the road though as in order to resume training, the clubs are expected to splash out a good amount of money on testing machines. These machines cost in the range of £35,000. And on top of that, the club are also expected to spend about £5,000 more every week due to the extraordinary conditions right now.

It goes without saying that that is a large sum of money especially since most sources of cash inflow have been cut off for the clubs over the last several months as a result of no football. And then they’ll been taking another huge hit as a result of no match day revenue next season.

Some incredible news broke out earlier today though. As reported by The Glasgow Times, only Celtic and Ross County have arranged for the testing equipment till now. Meaning that 10 Premiership clubs are yet to make any arrangements with training just a week away.

While it is true that a lot of clubs are struggling financially, this equipment is an absolute must right now if football is to kick off in time. And what is incredible is the fact that the Rangers, who just spent £3 million on Ianis Hagi, have not made any arrangements yet.

Are times really this tough at Ibrox these days?
