Rangers paragon Ally McCoist is now making a desperate and embarrassing plea to Celtic regarding Odsonne Edouard.

Celtic fans are used to this by now. What we mean by that is Hoops fans have come to accept that former-Rangers man Ally McCoist will run his mouth whenever he sees fit despite not being aware of the optics. It just comes off as desperate, and quite frankly embarrassing at this point.

Now the comments made by McCoist centre around Hoops striker Odsonne Edouard, who had a phenomenal campaign this past season, and is now linked with huge clubs across the globe. Those clubs include Arsenal, Leicester City, and Borussia Dortmund, to name a few. But could he actually make the move?

Well for many Hoops fans they hope Edouard at least sticks around for the 10-in-a-row then he can move on. His teammates hope for the same as well. The Frenchman is one of the most talented players in Europe right now, and is by far the best player in Scotland.

Because of that it makes complete sense why McCoist would want to see his exit from the Hoops. Speaking to talkSport here is what the former-Rangers man had to say:

"Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “The tell-tale sign, I’m reading a few of the Celtic boys, and they are coming out and asking him not to move, to wait another year.“No way, I’m clearly of the opposite opinion, get him away, and if he goes to Leicester or Arsenal, I tell you what, they will be getting a right top player.”"

It makes complete sense why McCoist would want Edouard to leave Scotland. It only helps Rangers already incredibly slim chances of upsetting the Hoops next season. Him even commenting on the situation smells of desperation.

But even more telling is Edouard’s own teammate Leigh Griffiths who spoke up to Glasgow Live about the rumours swirling around the Frenchman’s future:

"“I want him to be here, 100 per cent.“I see rumours all of the time that he is being linked with massive clubs, but don’t forget that we are a massive club as well, so we want him to stay.“If he stays one more season and plays as well as he has done over the last 18 months, he’d be a big, big asset in us reaching the 10-In-A-Row.”"

A lot of recent signs are pointing towards the Hoops retaining the prolific striker’s services for at least another year. But if an offer so massive comes along, Celtic may not be able to refuse the windfall of cash awaiting them. This transfer window will be one of the most important in club history.
