One ex-Celtic player has recently enlightened the world on the tactics Celtic manager Neil Lennon uses to motivate his players.

Every coach, manager and player has their own way of how to motivate themselves and those around them. Each approach is unique in its own way, but most revolve around some existential idea. However, Celtic manager Neil Lennon’s way is a bit different than most.

According to Lukasz Zaluska, a former Hoops goalkeeper, Neil Lennon forces his players to hate their opponents. This is an interesting tactic that is not really seen in the public eye often. By viewing your opponents as enemies much like in wartime, it gives the Hoops a different outlook on the match.

Hate is a motivator, and a powerful one at that. It allows the team to play with a chip on their shoulder which can be devastating to opposing clubs who are not properly prepared to face that level of passion. Again, Lennon seems unassuming on the sideline, but that is clearly far from the truth.

Speaking with the Daily Record, Lukasz Zaluska gives some really interesting insight into the inner workings of Neil Lennon’s mind:

"“He saw it as a war, not a match. He used to shout ‘I hate them, aaahhh! Do you remember what they did to you the last time we played?’ And the team screamed back at him!“We were told not to shake the opponents’ hands in the tunnel, not to even look at them. And he used to say ‘remember, refs don’t give out red cards in the first 15 minutes.”"

Zaluska continues on in the discussion about the possibility of the 10-in-a-row next season and how Rangers will likely spend big money (no idea where they will get it) in order to stop the 10IAR. As the Ibrox club has already discovered it is not necessarily about over-spending on transfers, but instead it is about building a club from the ground up built for longevity.

Until Rangers can figure out that piece of the puzzle, and their own financial issues, they will pose little threat to the Hoops.
