Michael Stewart has finally asked a question about Ianis Hagi that Rangers fans have been trying to avoid for quite some time now.

By now it is pretty clear that Rangers fans like to live in their own world, where they are the most successful club in the world, the best team in Scotland and did not die out in 2012. Unfortunately for them, Michael Stewart took the time earlier to burst their bubble.

As all of Scotland knows, the Rangers have continued to lose huge amounts of money since being reformed without a single trophy to show for it on the pitch. And after posting a £11 million loss earlier, it was revealed that they needed a £10 million cash injection in order to make it through the season.

As expected, reports of a mystery investor broke out who was about to invest a huge £20 million into the club because he was such a ‘huge’ fan of them. Yet as many had predicted, nothing has come of that and they are not a penny richer because of it.

That has not stopped the media from linking them with big transfers though and one of them is a £5 million move for Ianis Hagi to make the loan move permanent. And while the Romanian has had his moment at Ibrox in the Europa League, 3 goals in 12 appearances is hardly something to write home about.

Michael Stewart thus decided to question the logic behind the media linking Rangers with a move that they cannot possibly afford on his Twitter:

"“I see some media reporting that Rangers are closing in on a £5m signing of Hagi. Can anyone explain how the club lost £11m, was needing £10m to see the season out, then Coronavirus hit and has deferred huge amounts in wages but can be linked with a £5m signing?”"

Any possible move stinks of desperation on the Rangers’ part. The same desperation that led them to pay £7 million for Ryan Kent. And we all know how that one turned out. But even if they decided to move for Hagi, where is the money coming from?
