Sign Big Fraser Forster permanently

No. 2 is our No.1 or squad number 67. Fraser Forster, la gran muralla. That may be a dated nickname from heroics against Barcelona in his first spell at the club. But ask Morelos if he thinks he’s playing against a wall when he lines up a shot on Celtic’s goal. Scott Bain is an ok back up, he’s a decent keeper.

But Forster showed his true worth in many games after his return on loan for this past season. The League cup final alone makes him a must. The hoops need a secure wall behind the defence, Forster looks very keen to stay and help make a deal work. Lawwell and the board can make this happen too.

Find some cover for Broony

The third must revolves around Scott Brown. He’s been amazing over past seasons but we should expect a need to have a firm plan to cover for him during next season. We may expect to see more refereeing decisions against Celtic, Broony’s uncompromising play could mean more suspensions. Injuries and the need for a rest more often may also play a part.

So we need to work out our go to midfield. Neil Lennon needs to work out how he replaces Broony in the team. We have skill, graft and flair a plenty across Ntcham, McGregor, Christie and others, but the ideal alternative combination still needs work to identify.

The squad can still be strengthened, squad players may come and go, Kouassi moving on for a fee is a great example. Working out if and how to use Shved, Kimala and Bayo are all decisions to take.

But if Lawwell, the board and Lennon can secure Edouard, Forster and work out the Scott Brown conundrum, we’ll be well ahead of the rest of Scotland. 10 in a row, while needing tremendous effort and focus, is well within our reach.
