Fearless Celtic fans celebrate 9-in-a-row outside Ibrox
With Celtic being crowned champions of Scotland for the ninth straight time, some fearless Hoops fans decided to celebrate outside Ibrox.
Yes, ladies and gentleman, it is done. Celtic have been crowned champions of Scotland for the ninth straight time, making history in the process by equaling the all-time record for most consecutive Scottish league titles. And next season (whenever that ends up being) we will be going for the holy grail ten-in-a-row. Safe to say the Hoops fans are excited.
And it would not be too much of a stretch to say that the mood is the complete opposite at Ibrox. The Rangers board, media and fans tried to push their ‘null and void’ agenda as much as they could since the season was forced into suspension to the global pandemic. To be honest, they put up a better fight than they did on the pitch, where they were 13 points behind the defending champions despite heavy claims of putting up a title challenge.
Now, we all know that they will claim that this is a ‘tainted’ title but it does not matter what they say. If the shoe was on the other foot they would be celebrating this title and declaring that they were back at the pinnacle of Scottish football without a second thought.
So after having to listen to their complaints over the past several months it is only right that the Celtic fans had a little fun at their expense. So, two cyclists posed in front of Ibrox with a nine-in-a-row flag. As expected the picture did rounds on Twitter among the Hoops faithful:
If there was ever an occasion to rub salt into the Rangers fans’ wounds, this is it. And what better way to do it than celebrating our success in front of their own stadium.
