Former Rangers striker Andy Gray has just made a huge claim regarding Celtic and Rangers and whether or not they belong in the EPL.

For years Celtic fans have believed that their club belongs among some of the greatest in the world in the English Premier League. Clearly Scotland is of little challenge, and Rangers only show up to a couple matches a year. You can always count on an implosion from the Ibrox club.

Yet, the Hoops yearn for more of a challenge, and the fans want to see it. That is why every year European competition such as the UEFA Champions League and Europa League bring so much fanfare. It gives the club an opportunity to prove itself among some of the best in the world.

But, what would a season in the EPL look like? Surely Celtic could hold its own against clubs like Norwich City, Bournemouth and Aston Villa in order to stave off relegation. Plus the EPL opens a whole new world to cash flow, and revenue which could help the club become even more competitive coupled with its legendary development system.

Former Ibrox striker Andy Gray seems to agree that the Hoops, and Rangers belong in the EPL. Here is what he said on The Keys and Gray Show according to the Scottish Sun:

"“Rangers and Celtic have to play competitive football and if they are not getting competitive football, or enough people, or enough competition in Scotland they’re going to have to look for somewhere else.“And where is the best place for Rangers and Celtic to go play? In my opinion, it’s always been the one thing the Premier League can add to something that has been so successful, to maybe make it even better for me, would be two very strong Rangers and Celtic sides.”"

It would be awesome to see the Hoops playing against some of the best in the world week in and week out. Of course with the realignment it would potentially be tough to make the Champions League or the Europa League every year based off of current rules.

By moving to the EPL, Celtic would essentially be trading better domestic competition for less European competition throughout the season.
