Delusional former-Rangers Ally McCoist just cannot accept reality

Former-Rangers icon and current pundit Ally McCoist cannot accept the reality of the SPFL vote in which 42 clubs’ voices were heard.

Much to the chagrin of Rangers and its fans, the SPFL member clubs voted 27-13 against launching an independent investigation into the governing body and its officials. The reason all of this was even an issue in the first place was because of the insolence from the Ibrox club.

After weeks of calling the SPFL everything from corrupt to bullies, the vote finally came in. Despite this “dossier” that was supposed to unveil all the wrong doings of the SPFL, it only made the Ibrox club even more foolish.

It was clear after this masquerade or whatever type of crusade Rangers were trying to launch against the SPFL that member clubs didn’t buy it. It also lent itself to those who firmly believed Rangers were making such a fuss in order to stop Celtic from being awarded the title. In any case, the 27-13 vote proved it was all a farce (now Rangers are disputing the legitimacy of the vote).

One person who can’t quite grasp what is going on is pundit Ally McCoist. Speaking with the Daily Record, here is what the former-Rangers manager had to say:

"“How many members of the SPFL board would have voted? Six or seven? So my point would be that those on the board would have clearly voted with the SPFL so I’m not counting their votes to tell you the truth.“What I would suggest is, it’s by far and away, hardly a vote of confidence to have more than a third of clubs looking to have another inquiry into the SPFL.“I’m not sure it’s over and done with. I think in the interest of Scottish football, I honestly believe there should have been an EGM for the SPFL to clear themselves. It has been extremely poor management at best.”"

How sad. Why can’t Rangers just quietly slither back from which they came? McCoist speaks of maintaining the interests of Scottish football, yet believes the democratic vote was a hoax. By subtracting key votes like he wishes it would of course help Rangers cause. But it would also destroy any integrity Scottish football has left.

Rangers need to drop this mess and help Scottish football recover its global reputation. Up to this point, the Ibrox club and its supporters has been nothing short of an embarrassment.
