Celtic legend Chris Sutton mocks Rangers striker Jermain Defoe after the player made a ridiculous claim about the two clubs.

Celtic legend Chris Sutton is not one to standby and watch as Rangers, their players and their fans try and make a mockery of the Hoops with their outrageous claims. The Ibrox club has come to be known as the “club of statements” as they have become synonymous with releasing one every few days its seems.

While not the club itself, nor an “official statement” Ibrox striker Jermain Defoe has released an outrageous claim or statement of sorts. Defoe has always had a bit of a mouth and loves to sound off when he gets an audience. He truly embodies the Rangers way of dealing with PR.

When was the last time Celtic made a statement? A month ago. When was the last time a Hoops player took to the media to make a controversial statement? Good question. However, it has become standard operating procedure for the Ibrox club.

Defore spoke with Footballfancast when he made this delusional statment:

"“I said it when I signed, I believe it’s only a matter of time before it happens. Celtic fans give me a bit of banter about it on social media but I do genuinely believe it’s only a matter of time.”"

The one thing you can count on almost as much as Rangers making a stupid claim is that Chris Sutton will be right there to troll them when it happens. After Defoe’s latest comments he left no one disappointed:

Sutton never holds back does he? But of course, he makes a great point. Rangers and their players will continue to yap to the media and make ridiculous claims to get their fanbase stirred up. Celtic on the other hand will do their talking on the pitch.
