After months of waiting, Rangers have finally released their ‘explosive’ dossier against the SPFL and it is laughable to say the least.

Who didn’t see this coming? It was clear as day that the Rangers did not have much of a case against the SPFL when they continued to delay the release the ‘explosive’ dossier that contained evidence of ‘corruption, bullying and coercion’ by the officials. In fact, in hindsight it is laughable that the club called for the suspension of Neil Doncaster and Rod McKenzie.

The Rangers finally sent a reported 200-page dossier to the 41 other SPFL clubs on Thursday. Apparently they had received the information from a whistleblower months earlier, so why the continuous delay? Your guess is as good as ours in this case.

Of course, not many Celtic fans expected the document to have anything much of substance but what the Rangers have produced seems to contain even less. Now admittedly we do not have access to the document but judging by the SPFL’s statement after it came out, there appears to be no evidence at all against the body.

As reported by BBC, the SPFL said:

"“Since Rangers publicly demanded the suspension of the SPFL’s chief executive and legal counsel, everyone in Scottish football has waited patiently for them to present their case.“However, an initial examination of their ‘dossier’ has failed to identify a single shred of evidence to support Rangers’ vociferous claims of corruption, bullying and coercion by SPFL staff.“If Rangers have any good reason for Neil Doncaster and Rod McKenzie to be suspended, we have yet to see it.”"

All this controversy stems from the vote earlier in the season, when the majority of the clubs voted in favour of concluding the three lower Scottish leagues. Rangers called foul play and decided to make serious accusations against the SPFL of ‘corruption and ‘bullying’. But as things stand, it looks like they have failed massively to back up those claims.

Now an Emergency General Meeting will be held on 12th May, with them voting whether there needs to be an independent investigation into the SPFL. In order for the motion to pass, the Ibrox club will need the backing of 32 of the 42 clubs. Let’s just say we are skeptical that there is any chance of that happening.
