Harry Redknapp has given a brutally honest verdict about the fate of the Premiership title and Celtic’s nine-in-a-row.

At this point it is pretty clear that Rangers fans have voluntarily decided to live in a bubble of their own. And that is because of how hard they have found it to accept the fact that Celtic dominated their side once again, on their way to a ninth straight Scottish league title, thereby equaling the all-time record.

Before the season was suspended, Celtic were 13 points ahead of the Rangers in the Premiership table and even none of their fans were giving them a chance of catching up with the Hoops. But the suspension of the season has given them an excuse to claim that the title race was not over yet and they could have made something out of it yet.

Surprisingly, that was not what they were saying just a couple of months back when Steven Gerrard’s side were losing one game after the other. In fact, considering the form that they showcased after the January break, it was more realistic for them to fall to third than to somehow overtake Celtic. Truth be told, most Rangers fans were calling for their manager to be sacked not too long ago.

Harry Redknapp is a huge admirer of Steven Gerrard. But even the veteran manager could not deny that Celtic were set to win the league. As reported by The Scottish Sun, he said:

"“I thought then the league would go all the way to the wire.“Now, though, it’s Celtic’s title. I don’t care what anyone says.”"

Redknapp should know since he spent 52 years as a professional player and manger. And if Rangers fans are honest with themselves, if they know that they had no chance of making anything out of this title race.

All this debate over the past couple of months is just them trying to stir some controversy so that their landslide defeat appears a bit less embarrassing to the casual fan.
