The Celtic captain has hit back at the Rangers biased media, most of whom have continued to push the narrative that the Ibrox club could’ve won the Premiership this season.

Let’s put everything else aside for a moment and just talk facts. When the season was forced into suspension, Celtic had a convincing 13 point lead at the top of the Premiership table with only 8 games left to be played. And although the Rangers had a game in hand, even a win would leave them with a 10-point lead to overcome.

Just to put that in perspective, Celtic have only dropped 10 points through the entire season. The Rangers needed the Hoops to drop the same number of points in their last 8 games to have any mathematical chance of winning the league. And even then they would have to win their last 11 games, something that their recent form does not suggest that they were capable of doing. Let’s not even discuss goal difference.

Of course, the Rangers fans will play the ‘anything is possible’ card in order to prevent their bubble from bursting. But judging by the form that Steven Gerrard’s side showcased following the winter break, Motherwell and Aberdeen had a better chance of catching up with them than they had of doing so with Celtic.

Scott Brown took the opportunity to point out the obvious. Appearing on Sportsound, the Celtic captain questioned:

"“No, we’re 13 points clear, we’ve got a great goal difference, we’ve got eight games to play, can any of you see us being caught?”"

Then he told former Rangers star Neil McCann:

"“Come on Neil, give us that shout, take that Rangers strip off.”"

It should be mentioned though that Neil McCann agreed with Broony that his former side had no chance of catching up with the Hoops. It is no secret though that a large portion of the media is Rangers biased and they have continued fodder to this make-believe idea that they could still win the Premiership title this season.

Many of them have even called for the season to be declare ‘null and void’ because handing the title to Celtic (although they have a 13 point lead at the top of the table) would apparently be against sporting integrity.
