Angry Celtic fans let the Rangers know in no uncertain terms what they felt about their recent proposal to the SPFL regarding the fate of the season.

Rangers find themselves between a rock and a hard place at this point of time. On one hand, they are in a terrible financial situation and need the season-end prize money to be handed out in order to keep them afloat. But on the other, ending the season would mean that Celtic are declared champions, something that they are somehow hoping to avoid.

As a result, those at Ibrox have come up with the brilliant idea of extracting the prize money from the SPFL while also not allowing Celtic to be crowned champions. Who would have thought?!

According to BBC Sport, Rangers want the prize money to be distributed straightaway so that it can help the struggling clubs:

"“Scottish football must work together for the common good of every club, their staff and supporters.“We must allow decisions to be made in a rational, fair and balanced manner.”"

Yet they do not want the league season to be decided straightaway. Now while the Ibrox club are trying to paint the picture about how they are concerned about other sides, in reality they are trying to have the cake and eat it too.

As expected, Celtic fans were not too amused with their neighbours’ proposal:

The SPFL are already looking to bring the lower league seasons to a close and arranged a vote. At the time of writing, only one Championship side is yet to vote and if they vote in favour of the league being completed as things stand then the motion will be passed.

There are no plans to take any decision on the Premiership before 23rd April.
