Former Celtic and current Arsenal star Kieran Tierney recently made an emotional admission regarding his exit from the Hoops.

Kieran Tierney is one of the most beloved, home-grown Celtic bhoys in recent memory. The Hoops took a big chance on him when he was promoted to the first-team in 2015 at the age of 17-years old.

From there, his legend took off. He quickly became one of the best left-backs in the UK, much less Scotland. He served his boyhood club well for four years, and became one of the most popular players on the club as he helped the team achieve the vaunted treble-treble.

His talent, and production, soon became too great to go unnoticed by some of the biggest clubs in the world. Tierney eventually was sold to English giants Arsenal in the summer of 2019. Most of the Hoops fans supported the bhoy because he gave so much to the squad, and genuinely wanted the best for him.

As with any player who had the chance to play for his boyhood club and then move on, there are still come feelings when it comes to that club. Tierney is no different, and he let that be known when speaking with Arsenal’s team website:

"“I miss everything about Celtic. And I always will. I am very grateful for every second I spent playing for the club.”"

Such a short statement can mean so much. Many players come and go through the halls of the Hoops, and many bring a lot to the club. However, Tierney was different. He was homegrown. He was a Scot. He grew up dreaming of the chance to play for Celtic. He helped the club win championships and hardware. And now, he has moved on but still carries the club in his heart.

He is truly one of the ones we want to see succeed for a very long time.
