Taking a break from the ‘null and void’ mess, Alex Rae has now decided to name a terrible Rangers star to the SPFL Team of the Season.

With all the talk and discussion of a possible conclusion of the season due to the novel coronavirus, a lot of end of season content is now making its way out. As such, every pundit’s Team of the Season is starting to roll out, including Alex Rae’s which includes a terrible Rangers star.

Alex Rae, the former Rangers man himself, has decided to include the oft-error-filled James Tavernier in his Team of the Season. What is interesting to note is that James Tavernier has made some incredibly boneheaded mistakes this season while playing clubs like Hearts.

Despite scoring goals (thanks to being the penalty shooter), James Tavernier has really been lacking on all front this season. In fact, Billy Dodds even called out James Tavernier for being overrated in the Glasgow Times just a couple of days ago.

Perhaps the most frustrating part is that Alex Rae could rate James Tavernier over the likes of HAtem Abd Elhamed over Jeremie Frimpong who have played a large part in helping legitimately solidify the Celtic back line.

Alex Rae gives his reasoning for including James Tavernier in his Team of the Season in The Sun:

"“He’s excellent at bombing forward and has phenomenal delivery which has played a part in so many of Rangers’ goals this season.”"

Despite the inclusion of James Tavernier into the Team of the Season by one of the biggest Rangers’ apologetics, Celtic fans can take solace in knowing that our right backs, while not as ‘hyped up’ have still shown up to the big matches. Our players will continue to perform, even when it’s tough, or when it’s hard. That is the Celtic way.
