Ally McCoist was brutally trolled live on Alan Brazil’s morning show for a delusional yet hilarious claim that he made about the Rangers.
Just like the majority of Rangers fans, Ally McCoist seems to be living in the past. And while most of the time that can get on the nerves of football fans all around Scotland, at times they are known to provide some incredible entertainment as well.
That was the certainly the case with Ally McCoist when he appeared on Alan Brazil’s morning show. Hosted by Alan Brazil and Jamie O’Hara, the Rangers legend joined them on the line to play a game of word association and produce a moment of comedic brilliance.
The game starts with Ray Parlour, which leads to Arsenal, Thierry Henry, France, Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid, Steve McManaman, Liverpool, Steven Gerrard and then Rangers. Those in the studio must have thought that it was a setup for McCoist to name himself, but he does the unthinkable and says ‘trophies’.
The reaction of Brazil and O’Hara is as hilarious as McCoist’s answer itself. They seem absolutely baffled at first an then burst out laughing before sounding the buzzer and making fun of the Rangers’ trophy drought.

First of all lets just say that McCoist felt that the Rangers are more synonymous with trophies than clubs like Real Madrid and Liverpool. We will give you a few moments in order to let that sink in.
Now, many would argue that this present iteration of the Rangers has never won a major trophy, considering that they were dissolved back in 2012 and then resurrected later on.
But to be fair to McCoist, he did win his fair share of trophies during his time at Ibrox. In his 15 seasons playing for the Rangers, he won 20 trophies. Sadly for him, those days are long gone and the Ibrox have now reduced to the point where they are praying that the season is declared ‘null and void’ just to prevent Celtic from winning nine-in-a-row.
