Celtic legend doesn’t want club to be named champions

One Celtic legend has provided his two-cents on what the SPFL should do regarding the postponement of the season and crowning a champion.
Celtic and the rest of the Scottish Premiership League’s season has been put on hold due to the novel coronavirus. There is a ton of speculation as to what should happen with the league, and the season in general.
A couple scenarios that have been laid out are wait for the season to begin again, and play it out, thus affecting next season’s schedule. Others have called for the cancellation of the league, and the Hoops to be named champion. Some, mainly Rangers fans, want the cancellation of the league, and the season to be “null and void”.
Some of these scenarios make sense, especially for the top-flight clubs. But, what about clubs facing relegation, or promotion? What would be the most fair way to rectify or deal with that situation?
Celtic legend Charlie Nicholas has weighed in on the situation as written by The Daily Record:
"“You can’t finish anything until it’s concluded. I’m all for and I can understand people saying: ‘This is Celtic’s title, they should be handed the title’, but it’s not finished, it’s not complete.”“Will they win it? Of course, they will win it… Nobody actually knows the time-frame on this. This is why we have to be patient with each other. I think the decision (to shut down) was made with common sense and now we can hopefully get things back on.”"
Charlie Nicholas makes great sense here. Imagine the outcry from Rangers and their fanbase about how a Celtic title was earned during an artificially shortened season. The entire ten-in-a-row could have a cloud hang about it.
Instead, the Hoops need to hope that the season is able to commence in some sort of fashion so they can claim their rightful championship, the right way.
