Celtic are set to travel to Ibrox on Sunday to take on Rangers. Ahead of the clash, one Rangers coach has made some comments that should motivate the Hoops.

Rangers and all of their cohorts are no strangers to making delusional claims, especially when it is ahead of a match against Celtic. Despite being down 13 points in the Scottish Premiership League table, and no hope in sight, they continue to make such claims.

This time, it has come in the form of Gary McAllister. He believes it is a “great week to be a Rangers player”. Rangers will be playing in Europe on Thursday as they host Bayer in the Europa League’s Round of 16, and then they will host Celtic.

Now, being able to host to of the biggest matches of the year in one week is probably pretty neat. However, they are expected to get thrashed by both clubs, and as Hoops fans, we would all love to see that.

Rangers‘ will may be broken, which would explain all the talk coming from the club. Or maybe they actually believe this is the week where they begin a miracle run in which they unseat Celtic for the Scottish throne and begin their march towards being the champions of the Europa League.

Here are Gary McAllister’s exact comments according to The Sun:

"“These games are massive games for us, we have a couple of huge ones at Ibrox, then we travel away.“It’s a great week to be a Rangers player, I feel.“The European tie will present a challenge but it’s a challenge we’re most definitely looking forward to.”"

To be fair, this may be an attempt to motivate his own club, rather than put down the Hoops or even Bayer. After losing to Hearts and Hamilton, and just squeaking by against Ross County, this week will be monumental for the club.
