Here are our 5 hits & flops as Celtic returned to form against St Mirren with a 5-0 win to go 16 points clear of Rangers in the Premiership.

Celtic have not been in the best of form in recent weeks despite increasing their lead at the top of the Premiership table. Heading into the St Mirren clash, they had won twice, drawn twice and lost once in their last 5 games.

Much of that has been down to the constant tinkering that Lennon has done to the starting line up over that period of time but a return to a Griffiths-Edouard duo up top proved to do magic tricks. And the Celtic boss might even be kicking himself for dropping the Scottish striker these last few weeks as he could have turned out to be the difference in their Europa League second leg.

A hat-trick from Griffiths and one each from Edouard and McGregor were enough to cap off a fantastic 5-0 win, taking them 16 points ahead of Rangers in the Premiership table. While Steven Gerrard’s side have a couple of games in hand, you would not count on them winning them considering the form that they are in right now.

HIT: LEIGH GRIFFITHS

Talk about turning back the clock. Leigh Griffiths looked very much like his old self against St Mirren as he played like a man possessed to stake his claim in the first-team.

All three of his goals were very different – the first one showing his instincts, the second one showing his dribbling abilities and link-up play, and the third one a typical striker from range.

There is no way Lennon can drop him for the Glasgow Derby against Rangers next week after a performance like that.
