Rangers fans seem to be having a hard time accepting their defeat against Hamilton that saw them fall 13 points behind Celtic in the Premiership table.
It is that time of the week again when we take a look at Rangers fans melting down on Twitter after watching their side collapse. This time, it was Hamilton Academical’s turn to pile on their agony by handing them a 1-0 defeat at Ibrox – their second loss to a bottom-placed side in the past three days. And while Celtic only managed a draw on the night, it was enough to see them increase their lead to 13 points.
Now that the high of the Europa League qualification is wearing down, the reality of the situation is quickly setting on them. The Rangers have been absolutely abysmal since their return from the winter break in domestic competitions. While at point it looked like they were set to challenge the Hoops in the remaining two titles, after their impressive win at Parkhead, the wheels have completely fallen off.
In the 12 domestic games that they have played this year, Steven Gerrard’s side have lost 4 times and drawn twice. And while they had the advantage in the Premiership title race a little over a month ago, now they find themselves 13 points behind leaders Celtic, with little chance of a comeback with only 9 league games remaining this season.
One of the most entertaining aspects of these defeats is getting to have a look at the tweets from some of these Rangers as they watch their side continue to slide behind Celtic. And with every passing defeat, they seem to be getting angrier with their manager.
It looks like the majority of the Rangers fans want to see Gerrard get the sack as soon as possible – a worrying turn of events since just a few months ago you’d think he was the second coming of Sir Alex Ferguson if you listened to any fan of the Ibrox side.
