Celtic legend Chris Sutton put a Rangers’ fan in his place after he sent out a cheeky tweet about Rangers advancing while Celtic fell short.

Let’s get this out-of-the-way now: Celtic lost at home to FC Copenhagen which saw their exit from the Europa League, and Rangers defeated Braga to see their way to the Round of 16. It is incredible that the Hoops fell apart in the first leg of the tie, and then after being given a lifeline in the second leg at home squandered it.

Now the goal has been shifted to focusing on domestic competition. Ten-in-a-row won’t win itself, even nine-in-a-row isn’t secure yet. For all the faults the Hoops have had this year in Europe, or a minor miscue in domestic play, they still don’t compare to the meltdown Rangers have experienced this season.

Some Rangers fans conveniently forget this, and after winning against Braga, some Rangers fans have taken to social media to let Hoops fans have it. One poor lad shot an ill-advised tweet to Celtic legend and now BT Sports pundit Chris Sutton.

As with anything, Chris Sutton never holds back, yet still somehow comes off as a gentleman. It is an art for sure. In a now deleted tweet (good idea), one Rangers fan essentially said that Rangers don’t surrender under pressure, Sutton got cheeky with him. Take a look:

Tip of the hat to Rangers for progressing through to the next round of the Europa League. On the plus-side, their work it will raise the coefficient for Scotland allowing Celtic an easier path to the Champions League Group Stage. Because we all know that Rangers don’t have a chance at the domestic title.

Celtic cannot be mad at anyone but themselves for the squandered opportunities that were laid out before them. It is time to regroup, recage, and focus our sights on being champions.
