Celtic star’s decision to join the club questioned by legend

Premier League legend and former goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer believes that one Celtic FC player made a bad decision in joining the club on loan.
Celtic has been a club that has a phenomenal reputation for developing and producing talent. It is a huge reason why clubs love sending their players on loan to the Scottish champions. But now, one player may have made a mistake in joining the Hoops according to legendary goalkeeper a English Premier League legend Mark Schwarzer.
The player in question is Daniel Arzani, who made the move to the Hoops almost two years ago. The 21-year old Australian came in on loan to the club, and it took some time until he finally made his first-team debut.
When he did finally take the pitch, he tore his ACL which has kept him on the field for quite some time. While his injury may have been unavoidable, Mark Schwarzer still believes that Daniel Arzani made a poor choice in signing with the Hoops in the first place.
Speaking to Optus Sports’ Two Sharp Reds podcast, and transcribed by TBR Football, this is what Mark Schwarzer had to say regarding Daniel Arzani:
"“It took him a while to even get that opportunity to start in a Celtic side and when he signed for them, I said straight away, ‘I think it’s the wrong move for him.“He needs game time. He needs to play in a first-team. He needs to play in a team that plays a style of football that suits him best.“He’s a very gifted technical player, a player that loves to get the ball at his feet and run at the opposition, but as a ball-playing player, he needs other intelligent players around him.”"
So there is a couple of ways one can read this. First, is that Arzani doesn’t fit in well with the scheme. Or secondly, that Celtic doesn’t have enough intelligent players to help Arzani out.
Either way, the lad has had some bad injury luck, and no matter what club he played for wouldn’t have been able to magically fix his ACL and see him back onto the pitch. Arzani is talented, and hopefully we can see a little bit of that before his loan spell is up.
