Celtic receive boost in summer chase for £18-million star

Celtic always have their eye on the future. Now, they have received a boost in the chase for an £18-million star that the club may target in the summer.
Celtic may wade into the high-dollar transfer market come summer. The club have their eyes set on an £18-million star that is also being targeted by clubs such as Tottenham, Leicester City, and Aston Villa according to HITC.
The player in question is Serhou Guirassy, currently with Amiens, and the striker is being coveted by massive clubs in England. It seems a tad odd that Celtic would be pursuing such as high-dollar signing, as they rarely ever play with that type of money.
However, if the club cannot come to terms with current striker Odsonne Edouard, then selling the Frenchman seems like the only way forward. If they go down that route, then the club would easily be able to make the financial commitment to snag Serhou Guirassy in what will surely be the largest signing in club history.
At 23-years old, Serhou Guirassy is young enough to provide multiple years of service to whichever club ends up signing him in the summer. It seems unlikely he will remain with Amiens in Ligue 1, as they sit near the bottom of the table.
Serhou Guirassy has scored eight goals in 22 Ligue 1 appearances this season, and has added an assist as well. While not ‘prolific’ numbers, he has proven that he can play at one of the highest levels in the league. He would be a suitable replacement if Odsonne Edouard does indeed move on in the summer.
Regardless, the Hoops should be players in the summer transfer market after a lackluster winter window that may prove to be unfruitful after all. In any case, trust in Neil Lennon, the club and the process.
