Rangers manager Steven Gerrard refuses to apologise for his Celtic Park antics in December but felt comfortable enough to call out the Hoops’ celebration at Aberdeen.

Steven Gerrard has been making headlines left and right the last few weeks. Whether it’s for calling out his own players for the losses, not taking responsibility for really anything, or calling out the Champion’s celebrations, he has had quite the camera time.

As Celtic fans vividly remember, and Rangers fan like to forget, Steven Gerrard decided to look like an amateur after defeating Celtic 2-1 in Parkhead during their December meeting. Rangers pulled within two points of Celtic in the table, and acted like they had just won the league in doing so.

Now, Rangers are on their annual downhill slide as the Hoops have pulled 12 points away (13 directly after Aberdeen). Steven Gerrard felt the need to call out the Neil Lennon and his squad for their celebration after Aberdeen.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Steven Gerrard had this to say about the situation:

"“I’ll never apologise for being authentic. I am passionate after a win. I don’t think people on the outside understand the pressures you are under in that moment.“I do ask myself if it was too much but then I think Celtic beat Aberdeen last weekend, and 11 players and Neil Lennon are jumping about and celebrating with the fans. I’m totally fine with it.”"

Steven Gerrard has little room to talk, and the difference is that Celtic won a hard-fought battle, in terrible conditions to pick up a team win. Aberdeen played well and were formidable foes. Steven Gerrard’s antics came on the heels of some poor performances, and the celebration was less about the club winning as much as it was about Gerrard getting his win against the Hoops.

Gerrard is his biggest enemy when it comes to dealing with the media. Luckily for us Celtic fans we have a manager that has the maturity and knowledge in portraying the club in a favourable light. Win or lose.
