At this point of time it looks like the Scottish FA are just looking for excuses to impose bans on Celtic, with the latest one absolutely ridiculous.

Celtic have had their troubles with governing bodies this season, some justified and some completely uncalled for. The most recent in their long line of fines though will leave even their biggest detractors scratching their heads.

As reported by STV, the Hoops have been been fined by the SFA for failing to control their players in their 2-1 win over Partick Thistle in the 4th round of the Scottish Cup. The amount that they have been fined? Four thousand pounds, a measly sum compared to what the Glasgow side are accustomed to paying when hit with fines.

The incident took place in extra-time of the game when the referee decided to hand Partick Thistle a penalty for no apparent reason at all. Naturally, the referee was hounded by the Celtic players following his decision – something that you will see every time a penalty is given in a game of football.

Unfortunately, the Scottish governing body somehow managed to interpret it as the Celtic players being out of control. This is just one in a number of bizarre decisions that the SFA has made in recent times, with it becoming more and more apparent with every passing week that there needs to be a change in the system.

Earlier in the season, Ryan Christie had been hit with a 3-game ban after it was adjudged that he had intentionally grabbed Alfredo Morelos’ groin region, although the incident appeared to have been completely accidental.

It is not only Celtic though who have had to face the burnt of their poor decision making. Clubs all around Scotland have been fed up with the system for quite some time with an emergency meeting even being called earlier in the season. Unfortunately, that does not seem to have changed anything.
