5 Hits & Flops from Celtic’s 1-1 draw away at FC Copenhagen
Here are 5 hits and flops from Celtic’s hard-fought 1-1 away draw against FC Copenhagen in the first leg of the round of 32 of the UEFA Europa League.
It looked like it was going to be a walk in the park for the Hoops when they took an early lead in the 14th minute against Danish champions, FC Copenhagen, through Odsonne Edouard. But after a dominant first-half performance, in typical Celtic fashion, they let the hosts back into the game in the second half and can count themselves lucky to be going back to Glasgow with a draw.
It could have easily been much worse for the Hoops if Fraser Forster had not saved a penalty or the Danish side had taken some of their chances in the second half. But at the end of the day, 1-1 was a fair result considering the fact that Celtic were wasteful with their chances as well.
At least it is in their hands now, with a win at Parkhead guaranteeing progress to the next round.
HIT: Odsonne Edouard
Continues to be the main man for Celtic in Europe. Scored a brilliant dinked finish over FC Copenhagen keeper Johnsson to open the scoring in the 14th minute. Had a few more chances and could and probably should have scored more. But he gives Celtic an important away goal heading into the second leg and that could come in very handy when the two sides meet at Parkhead.
