FC Copenhagen’s skipper makes a confession about Celtic ahead of their Europa League Round of 32 tie which is set to begin on Thursday.

Copenhagen’s captain and star, Carlos Zeca, spoke with the media ahead of Thursday’s Europa League Round of 32 tie with Celtic. Copenhagen remains an underdog for the tie, but that is shaking their confidence.

Furthermore, the Hoops have been absolutely dominate since returning from the winter break, and look like a rejuvenated squad after dropping points to Rangers in late-December. Celtic has won nine matches in a row, and have done so handedly, minus a tough matchup against Aberdeen on Sunday.

Copenhagen on the other hand has seen some struggles recently, which could affect the momentum heading into the Europa League tie with the Hoops. Celtic will have the opportunity to secure some away goals, and make a statement when they travel to Denmark.

Speaking to the media, and transcribed by the Daily Record, Copenhagen captain, Carlos Zeca, made a confession about Celtic:

"“We must be smart and keep our heads cool on the pitch, even though it will be an intense atmosphere in both matches.“We always aim to win at home in Copenhagen, but we also know that it can be crucial that we keep them from scoring, so we always have to balance things. 0-0 may prove to be a good result, but that is not what we are going for.“It is a really strong team that is very dominant in their league, just as they have been really good in the Europa League this season.”"

Carlos Zeca knows it is going to be a tough battle for his club to take down the reigning Scottish Champions, but Copenhagen does pose as a real challenge to the Hoops. If Celtic plays like they did on Sunday against Aberdeen, then Copenhagen will be able to pull one over on the Hoops.

However, if the Celtic squad that has been so dominant since the New Year is the team that arrives in Denmark, then all bets are on the Hoops. In any case, the Europa League tie between the two clubs should be a good one, and one that has been looked forward to for months.

It is always a great experience when your club has the chance to add European competition to the docket.
