A Celtic legend was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery after collapsing on his doorstep after walking his dog on Saturday.

Celtic legend Jackie McNamara collapsed on his doorstep on Saturday after taking his dog for a walk. The 46-year old was rushed to the hospital to undergo emergency surgery. He has reportedly undergoing surgery in Hull after having been transferred from a hospital in York, according to The Sun.

The issue appears to be a ‘bleed on the brain’ according to John Hartson on Twitter:

Jackie McNamara joined Celtic in 1995 and enjoyed a ten year period of success with the club. He was awarded the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year in 1996, and continued on to help the club win multiple championships and hardware.

Jackie McNamara was well liked in the clubhouse by his former teammates which also include Celtic legends Henrik Larsson and Chris Sutton. In fact, Chris Sutton just released a get well message to Jackie McNamara over Twitter as well:

Here is to hoping that Jackie McNamara makes a full, and speedy recovery from his ailment.
