Rangers man has finally been punished as the SFA passed down the sentence over antics that were performed in the most recent Glasgow Derby match against Celtic.

There has been a lot of drama that has stemmed from December’s Glasgow Derby match between Celtic and Rangers. Whether it was the “gun” incident with Ryan Kent or the “throat slitting” incident with Alfredo Morelos (is he involved in all the drama?) things got a little dicey.

One incident that did not receive as much coverage were the antics of Rangers’ coach Michael Beale towards Celtic’s John Kennedy. Beale apparently got in an altercation with the Hoops coach after being sent off.

Michael Beale’s involvement in the incident has landed him a five-game suspension effective immediately for the next three games, with two more being served later in the season.

John Kennedy has been a true professional when discussing the incident between the two coaches, and has helped to downplay this situation in particular. Speaking with The Daily Record, John Kennedy shed some light on the altercation:

"“I’ve had a couple of people ask me about whether there was fighting in the tunnel. There was no such thing. It’s just the usual nonsense.“It’s an emotional time. I know Michael very well and I have done since before he came to Rangers. We have spoken in the past. There is no issue with us.“He was in trouble with the officials, there was a bit of verbals, that’s it, end of. That’s the way it goes sometimes.“We had a wee bit of toing and froing very briefly, but nothing major and it’s something I would quite like to put to bed.“The emotion of the game gets the better of you sometimes. You say some things, you move on. It is the same with the guys on the pitch. They get caught up in the emotion of it. You have to put it to bed quickly.”"

What is Scottish football without a little drama and some follow-up suspensions by the SFA? This is what we seemingly live for as fans! Well, that and Celtic running the domestic board every year because Rangers are nowhere to be seen.

With as much drama that has stemmed from the one match in December, we cannot wait for the next scheduled Derby to occur in March. Until then, we are sure Alfredo Morelos will continue to provide us with entertainment off the pitch.
